In Orlando, Florida, 23-year-old artist Sara Cohen is doing something magical, turning bits of clay into miniature, wearable works of art. As the founder of SJ Studio Shop, a handmade jewelry brand specializing in polymer clay earrings, Sara has built a colorful world inspired by the music, shows, and movies that shaped her.
Sara’s story began like many others during the pandemic: with time to spare and falling down a Pinterest rabbit hole. In 2020, she stumbled upon a post about making polymer clay earrings. What started as an experimental craft session soon became a full-blown passion.
By the time she graduated from Rollins College in 2023, SJ Studio Shop was more than just a side project, it was her career. Taking the leap to work for herself full-time was nerve-wracking, but it also felt inevitable.
Sara had always been an artist at heart, from when she was 4 years old holding her mini Crayola markers, to now, being in love with most art forms, creating has always been her passion.
What sets SJ Studio Shop apart in a sea of handmade accessories is its personality. Every earring design is a tribute to the things Sara loves most—like Gilmore Girls, Taylor Swift, Hozier, and Mamma Mia!
