Entrepreneur of the Day: Michelle West

Today’s Entrepreneur of the Day is Michelle West! Michelle founded BIA Nutrition

When it comes to finding a balance between performance, fitness, and everyday life, few people understand the challenge better than Michelle West, a professional dancer, bodybuilder, coach, and CEO of BIA Nutrition.

Michelle’s journey has taken her from the stages of Broadway to building a powerful coaching community that’s changing the way women approach health and fitness. If you’re a current or former performer, dancer, or just a high-achieving woman looking to feel confident and strong in your body again, BIA Nutrition might be exactly what you’ve been looking for.

Born in Philadelphia, PA and now based in Fort Lee, NJ, Michelle West has spent her life in motion. With a BFA in Dance from Temple University, she built a thriving career performing in regional productions, national tours like Aladdin, and on Broadway in Tina: The Tina Turner Musical and Water for Elephants.

But behind the scenes, Michelle began facing the same issues so many performers do: exhaustion, inconsistency, and the constant pressure to look stage-ready. That’s when she turned her focus to fitness, nutrition, and mindset coaching, eventually becoming a certified coach and launching her own business: BIA Nutrition. Now, through her groundbreaking coaching platform BIA Nutrition, she’s helping performers, dancers, and women across the country transform their bodies and lives without the traps of yo-yo dieting or extreme cardio.

Since launching BIA Nutrition, Michelle’s helped over 250+ current and former dancers transform their health, not through crash diets or marathon workouts, but with education, structure, and support.

BIA Nutrition was built on a simple but powerful philosophy: To help strengthen women and performers to redefine and achieve sustainable health, transforming how they thrive in their daily lives.

Too many programs promise fast results but leave people burned out, confused, and stuck in a cycle of yo-yo dieting. BIA is different. Michelle created the BIA Method to offer women and performers the tools, knowledge, and accountability they need to stay lean, strong, and energized.

At BIA, clients receive:

  • Tailored nutrition and fitness plans
  • One-on-one coaching and accountability
  • Access to a powerful community of like-minded women
  • Education on how to stay lean, strong, and healthy for life

Instead of selling 6-week shreds, Michelle and her team focus on long-term transformation. This is about building habits that stick, not short-term results that vanish the minute you stop.

The name “BIA” comes from Greek mythology. Bia is the goddess of force, strength, and raw energy and the sister of Nike, the goddess of victory. That symbolism isn’t just cool, it’s core to the BIA mission.

At its core, BIA Nutrition exists to help women and performers redefine what it means to be healthy. It’s not about shrinking down or punishing your body, it’s about thriving in your daily life. Whether you’re a former dancer wanting to reconnect with your body or a high-performing woman juggling work, wellness, and everything in between, BIA meets you where you are.

BIA Nutrition champions a community-based approach, where clients uplift each other, share progress, and inspire others outside the BIA circle to take action.

When asked if she had any advice for women who wanted to start their own business, Michelle said, “You need to be relentless, gritty, and you need to just start! I hear a lot of people wishing, dreaming, manifesting everything they want to do; but not of those dreams can come true if you don’t take ACTION. Do the work; do it over and over. Be authentically you. Stand true to who you are. Know that not everyone will agree with your vision but you have to believe in you. Surround yourself with people who you aspire to be like. Who push you toward you dream. Who are Kind; not NICE. And if you follow through, your entrepreneurial goals will flourish. Is it hard work yes, but i wouldn’t change it for the world.”

Whether you’re getting back into shape after leaving the stage, trying to break free from diet culture, or just want a coach who gets it, you’re not alone. Michelle and her team are building a space where women uplift each other, share wins and struggles, and keep each other accountable. BIA Nutrition offers the roadmap to a stronger, more confident you.
