JOY starring Tony nominee Betsy Wolfe starts performances on June 21, 2025!

A Closer Look at Broadway Star, Betsy Wolfe

Back in 2018, Betsy Wolfe had just left her star turn in Waitress when she got involved in the first reading of the musical, JOY. By that point, Betsy had been performing on Broadway for over 10 years since making her debut in the 2007 revival of 110 in The Shade

Before getting involved with JOY, Betsy had also been in the Broadway companies of Everyday Rapture, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Bullets Over Broadway, and Falsettos. She also gained huge praise for her portrayal of Cathy in The Last 5 Years

Since 2018, Betsy has been involved in various readings and workshops of JOY while still performing consistently. In 2022 she starred as Anne Hathaway in & Juliet and received her first Tony nomination!

Just like Joy, Betsy is also a business owner! She founded her company BroadwayEvolved in 2018, an amazing musical theatre training program that has been named one of the top summer programs for students. The program provides personalized training and feedback, acting workshops, private vocal technique lessons, dance classes, business of Broadway seminars, and individualized performance based masterclasses all taught by renowned Broadway artists. BroadwayEvolved brings the highest level of talented and mentorship based faculty to propel student and educator success.

This past year, Betsy has been busy with JOY. She performed in both a reading of the musical in October and then a full workshop in January. Plus she got to don the purple power suit and test out the Miracle Mop in a photoshoot!

And now after 6 years of work, Betsy will finally get to perform JOY for a New York audience Off-Broadway this summer at the Laura Pels Theatre! You only have 8 weeks to see Betsy Wolfe star in JOY: A New True Musical Off-Broadway this summer. Get your tickets NOW: joythemusical.com/tickets
